How much does it cost to get your drivers license this way?

I still cost $25.00, which is the regular amount. This is the Florida Department of Transportation. All they are offering is a chance to get a copy of a Driver License or Florida ID. You need to show them your Birth Certificate, proof of Social Security number, and proof of address.

Does this mean that instead of driving to FL City at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18th, when I have an appointment to renew my license, I can just go to a vehicle at the Police Department in Miami Beach on Thursday the 19th between 9:30 and 3:45? With all my documents, of course.

Yes! The Florida Department Motor Vehicles will be in a room at the Miami Police Station at 1100 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL. From 9:30 am to 3:45 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2010. You can not get an original, but you can get a duplicate or renew. You need a Birth Certificate or Valid U.S. Passport if you are a citizen, a resident card or I-94 form if you are from another country. Also you need proof of your Social Security Number and two proofs of address.
